Gentlemen:

I am going to be quoting a replacement water tower and/or chiller system to a customer. I have done a preliminary inspection and find that they are operating an old 15 ton Marley tower with a 500 gallon homemade poly-reservoir and a single process/tower pump. About 6 months ago, they installed a water softener on the system.

With regards to the water sample I will submit, would Towerklean rather see the "raw" water sample directly from the tap or the "raw" water sample, but after it has gone thru the softener? Let me know and I'll collect the sample(s).

Herb,

Regardless of whether or not the water is to be softened, we would like to see a raw (unsoftened) water sample.  If the softener is already in place, we can look at a sample of the softened water as well to see if the softener is working sufficiently by looking at the water hardness.
