I understand the media in the TowerKlean system is brass powder and perhaps some other elements. Will you please tell me what its contents are and when I send it to my local recycle company what should they know too? I am aware that being a heavy metal it can be dangerious if it got into a watershed. So we are very careful that way. But that is industry, we deal with sometimes potentially dangerious things and so need to know exactely how to deal with them responsibly.

The question of recycling the TowerKlean media is an excellent one.  The media consists of a high purity allow of copper and zinc in a 50:50 ratio.  Both of these metals have a recycle value but copper will be of primary interest to recyclers.  For example:  If you have 100 pounds of expended media, you can often sell it for the 50 pounds of copper that it contains.  It contains only traces of contaminants, since the media is used in other applications including the treatment of potable water.
